Do I need to complete continuing education requirements for my AIA membership?

Yes, as an Architect member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), 18 learning unit hours are required per calendar-year for membership renewal.  Of these 18 hours, at least 12 hours must be in subjects designated as Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW). Architects Training Institute offers a 30-hour continuing education package that meets all state and AIA requirements.

I have extra Kansas architect continuing education hours, can I apply them to the next renewal cycle?

Carry-over hours are allowed. A maximum of 30 PDHs may be carried forward into the next renewal period. Carry-over hours must be documented if audited.  You must list ALL 30 plus PDHs on the Continuing Education Report Form for carry-over hours and attach documentation in the same order as listed on the form.

Who notifies Kansas of my architect continuing education?

It is the licensee’s responsibility to notify the state.  You must keep your records for at least 4 years. Architects Training Institute will store your records for 6-years at no additional cost.

Where can I find Kansas architect continuing education?

Architects Training Institute offers online courses in video and full narration. All courses are Kansas approved while courses packages are approved by the state of Kansas and the AIA.
