Michigan Architects Renew Their License Oct. 31, 2015
As of October 10, 2013, Michigan requires that all architects complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) in order to renew their license. These 24 hours of CE must be based on Health, Safety, or Welfare (HSW) topics and must be approved by the AIA as HSW credits. Oct. 31, 2015 is the end of the first renewal cycle, and all architects licensed in the state of Michigan must have completed their 24 hours of HSW based continuing education in order to renew their license.
Some architect’s in the state of Michigan have licenses that began their cycle in 2014, these architects are required to complete 12 HSW hours during this first year of their license cycle, and then 12 more before they renew their license Oct. 31, 2016.
