Minnesota Builders, if you haven’t completed your CE yet, don’t panic!

Minnesota will still accept your continuing education and allow you to renew your license, you’ll just have to pay an $80 late fee.

What CE is required to renew my Minnesota contractors license?

Your first step is to complete 14-hours of continuing education. We offer education in a 14-hour package, 7-hour course, or just 1-hour of energy code. All courses are available 24/7 and completely online.

NOTE: The state requires you to spend at least 7-hours in each course and you CANNOT complete two courses in the same day.

Who submits my CE to Minnesota?

We will submit your Continuing Education to Minnesota the next business day after completion. Please note the day of completion will be used as your submission date. The state will take at least 24 hours to recognize that the CE has been processed.

How do I renew my Minnesota Contractors license?

Licenses can be renewed online.  The state will charge fees based on income from the renewal cycle, an additional $80 will be charged if your renewal is completed after March 1st.

  • $565 if gross annual receipts are less than $1 million
  • $665 if gross annual receipts are between $1 million and $5 million
  • $765 if gross annual receipts are more than $5 million
