Texas Benefits for Veteran Real Estate Professionals

The Texas Real Estate Commission has streamlined and expedited the application process for service members and their spouses applying for a real estate license.

  1. Qualifying individuals will first need to determine if they want to be an Agent, a Broker, or an Inspector.
  2. Complete an application for the desired license
  3. Attach the Supplemental Form for Military Service Members, Military Veterans, and Military Spouses
  4. Base application and examination fees will be waved if
    • Your service, training, or education meets requirements for a license
    • You hold a current license from another jurisdiction with equivalent requirements
    • You held the license within the last 5 years
  5. Provide fingerprints for a background check
  6. Pass the written examination
  7. You may request to have your military education, experience, or training evaluated for licensing credit
