Worker Protection Standards (WPS) are a set of safety responsibilities that apply to Montana pest managers and their employers. This course explains your duties and covers the ways in which your employer must protect you as you work. Personal protective equipment is key to staying safe. Know what PPE must be available to you and how to use it properly. Pesticide disclosures must be posted to every worksite. This course teaches you what information must be provided and where it must be posted.

Forest pest management may include exposure to excessive heat. Learn the warning signs of heat stress and appropriate ways to manage heat-related illnesses.

This course teaches you how to minimize pesticide drift and achieve a more uniform application by properly calibrating and using your tools. Take a detailed look at sprayers and nozzles of all kinds. Learn how to calibrate new and existing components with each use. Finally, this course discusses broadcast sprayers, banding calibration and effective application methods.
