Pest Control Practices in Residential, Industrial & Institutional Structures | New York Approval #NY-24-426633

Instructor: Sarah Racine

Pests can wreak havoc on structures, causing damage to critical components and stored items and creating severe economic losses. Additionally, pests such as mosquitoes and rodents can transmit diseases threatening human health. Weeds also pose significant issues by creating safety hazards, diminishing the appearance of structures, and serving as breeding grounds for pests.

This course provides New York pest managers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage pests and weeds in and around structures using safe, efficient, and cost-effective methods. You’ll learn how to inspect, monitor, and trap pests, select and apply appropriate pesticides, and identify common food pests to minimize contamination risks.

By the end of the course, which is approved by the Department of Environmental Conservation, you will be able to:

  • Develop effective pest management strategies for structures.
  • Implement thorough inspection, monitoring, and trapping techniques.
  • Understand the impact of weeds and their control around structures.
  • Apply appropriate pesticide formulations.
  • Expertly manage common food pests.
