IPM Practices for Landscape Pest Management | Pennsylvania Approval #002PZ5

This course focuses on the advantages and factors for pesticide applicators in Pennsylvania to consider when creating an integrated pest management (IPM) program.

The course includes a range of pest management techniques, including augmentation, mechanical and cultural control, sanitation, and pesticide use. Students will also learn guidance on liquid pesticide application equipment and calibration, as well as techniques for applying tree injection and implantation, granule pesticides, and baits/traps.

This course also explains how to maintain pesticide application equipment and determine the amount of pesticide to use based on pesticide type and area size.

By the end of this course, students will:

  • Understand the different pest management approaches that comprise an IPM.
  • Know the types of pesticide application equipment used in landscape, turf, and interiorscape settings.
  • Be able to explain how to utilize granule pesticides, tree injection and implantation, and baits/traps.
  • Determine how to maintain and calibrate pesticide application equipment.
